Just to let you know i am using a laptop with an i7 cpu and 16 gig of Ram with Windows 8 64bit, and because i make dance-music i only use softsynths, and i run a lot of them in any given track, so i wish to have any benefits of 64bit like the extra ram usage and any other benefits that go with 64bit but yes i am asking in particular whether 64 internal floating point processing does technically in theory affect the outcome of the audio quality for the better, regardless of whether people say they can hear the difference or not. LAGinz, i have heard many times from developers and users of DAWs that 64bit uses less CPU than 32bit, because it is able to achive more processing in one cycle than 32bit i could be wrong, but that is what i have gathered, as even Cakewalk themselves have stated in answer to users questions and as feedback that 64bit is more efficient and able to achieve more than 32bit in any given cycle of the CPU.Īnyway, LMike, it would be helpful for me to know if the 32bit version of Studio One uses 64bit internal processing, or is 64bit processing only done inside a 64bit application?
